In the Name of God Amen
I JOHN WHEATE of Pamber in the County of Southon gent being accidently brought into a sick and weake condition but of good understanding and memory doe make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following First and principally I commend my immortal Spirit into the hands of Almighty God hopeing through his mercies the meritts of our Lord Jesus Christ and the sanctifications of the holy Ghost to obtaine a pardon for all mine Offences and an eternall Inheritance amongst them that are sanctified and saved unto everlasting Life  Item as to my Estate I order and Dispose of the same as followes namely I give to my only son SAMUEL one shilling  Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter SUSAN my Copyhold or Leasehold Lands in Pamber now in my owne possession and wherein she hath an Estate for Life called [Budds] which I value worth one hundred pounds  Item I likewise give unto my said Daughter SUSAN one hundred pounds more  Item I give and bequeath unto my two other Daughter ANN and MARY Two hundred pounds apiece which last mentioned Legcies of Five hundred pounds I order to be paid unto my said Daughters at their respective Ages of one and twenty yeares or daies of Marriage which shall first happen And that if either of them Dye before she shall attaine attaine to that age or be married That then her portion shall be Divided amongst and between the survivors which will and [           ] shall hold as well in the before mentioned Life Lands called [Budds] as in the Moneys And I order the same to be paid out of my personall Estate by my Executrix hereinafter named whom I desire to take care of them and bestow the Interest thereof towards their education  Item I order my Executrix hereinafter named to pay all my just Debts and the better to enable her to doe the same I intend this Day to surrender all that my Copyhold Estate in Stratfield Mortimer in the County of Berks unto the hands of the Lord or Lady of the said Mannor To the use of my loving Wife ANN To hold to she and hers according to the custome of the said Mannor which said Copyhold is called [Kattons] and I esteem it worth Five hundred pounds and I order her to sell and dispose of the same for the best price can be gotten within one year after my decease and with the money to pay my just Debts as aforesaid  Whereas I have an Estate by way of Mortgage in certaine Lands and Tenements in Binsted in the County of Southton of the possessions of the Burninghams for security of one hundred and fifty pounds which I have Mortgaged for one hundred pounds and is made to me and by me in the nature of a Freehold or by some such substantiall way of conveyance Now I give devise and bequeath the said Lands Tenements and Hereditaments and all other Lands Tenements and Hereditaments whatsoever situate in Binsted aforesaid wherein I have any manner of Estate in possession revertion remainder use or equity of Redemption and all money due out of or upon the same either to my selfe or to my deceased [            ] Mr SAMUEL WHEATE unto my loveing Wife ANN and to her heires and Assignes for ever  Item I doe make and ordain my said loveing Wife ANN the sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I doe revoke all former Wills by me made [            ] I constitute and appoint my especiall Friend LOFTUS BRIGHTWELL Esq my Father in Law BERNARD PARFITT and my brother in law Mr JOHN TAPLIN overseers of this my last Will and Testament and desire them to be assistant to my Executrix and I give them Twenty shillings apeece to buy them a Ring  In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale this three and twentieth Day of May Anno Domini one Thousand seven hundred and six And in the fifth year of the Raigne of Queen Ann over England – JOHN WHEATE
