In the Name of God Amen

I MARGARET HOUSE of the Parish of St James within the Liberty of Westminster in the County of Middlesex widow do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say and first I will and direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid and satisfied

I give and bequeath unto SCROOPE OGILVIE of the said Parish of St James Esq. and ANDREW PATTERSON of the said Parish of St James Baker and to the survivor of them and the Executors or Administrators of such survivor the sum of one thousand one hundred pounds upon trust to place out and invest the same in Parliamentary Securities in the Publick Stocks or Funds and I will and direct that my said Trustees and the survivor of them his Executors or Administrators shall permit and suffer my Niece NICOLAS RICHMOND wife of HUGH RICHMOND of Aberdeen Land [                        ] to receive the Interest Dividends and produce of the sum of six hundred pounds part of the said sum of one thousand one hundred pounds for and during the term of her natural life and I hereby direct and appoint that the said Interest Dividends and produce of the said sum of six hundred pounds shall be to the sole and separate use of my said Niece NICHOLAS RICHMOND as if she was sole and unmarried and not to be subject to the debts Disposition or control of her present or any after taken husband in any respect and the Receipts of my said Niece NICHOLAS RICHMOND alone shall from time to time be sufficient discharges for the same and every part thereof and from and after the decease of my said Niece NICHOLAS RICHMOND I Give the said principal sum of six hundred pounds unto and amongst all and every the son and sons daughter and daughters of my said Niece NICHOLAS RICHMOND as shall be living at the time of her decease equally to be divided between them share and share alike the part or share of such of the said son and son who shall have attained his and their respective age and ages of twenty one years in the life time of the said NICHOLAS RICHMOND and of such of the said Daughter or Daughters who shall have attained her or their age or ages of twenty one years or have been married in the life time of the said NICHOLAS RICHMOND to be transferred to him her and them respectively immediately after her decease and the parts and shares of the Rest of the said children of the said NICHOLAS RICHMOND if any to be transferred to the son or sons at his or their respective age or ages of twenty one years and to the Daughter or Daughters at her or their respective age or ages of twenty one years or day or days of Marriage which shall first happen and I direct that the Interest and produce of the said respective shares shall be applied in the mean time towards the maintenance and Education of such children until their respective shares shall become payable and if any or either of the said children of my said Niece NICOLAS RICHMOND shall happen to die before he she or they shall be entitled to his her or their respective share or shares of the said sum of six hundred pounds then I give the share and shares of him her or them so dying unto the survivors and survivor of them and I also will and direct that my said Trustees and the survivor of them his Executors or Administrators shall permit and suffer my Niece CATHERINE MURRAY to receive the Interest Dividends and produce of the sum of five hundred pounds remaining part of the said sum of one thousand one hundred pounds for and during the term of her natural life and I hereby direct and appoint that the said Interest Dividends and produce of the said sum of five hundred pounds shall be to the sole use of my said Niece CATHERINE MURRAY and not to be subject to the debts Dispositions or control of any husband she may happen to marry and the Receipts of my said Niece CATHERINE MURRAY alone shall from time to time be sufficient discharges for the same and every part thereof and from and after the decease of my said Niece CATHERINE MURRAY I Give the said sum of five hundred pounds unto WILLIAM [                    ] and CATHERINE MURRAY Children of my said Niece CATHERINE MURRAY equally to be divided between them share and share alike and to be paid to him and her respectively at his and her respective age and ages of twenty one years and in case either of the said two children of my said Niece CATHERINE MURRAY shall happen to die before he or she shall have attained his or her age of twenty one years then I Give the share of him or her so dying unto the Survivor of them likewise I Give and bequeath unto the said CATHERINE MURRAY Daughter of my Niece CATHERINE MURRAY the sum of fifty pounds

I give and bequeath unto the said SCROOP OGILVIE the sum of one hundred pounds  Likewise I give and bequeath unto the said ANDREW PATTERSON the sum of twenty Guineas for a Ring

Likewise I give and bequeath unto HARRY HOUSE of Pall Mall oil man and to his sister MARY HOUSE who now lives with him the Sum of ten Guineas each to buy each of them a Ring

Likewise I Give and bequeath unto GEORGE MONCRIEF of Ardrie in Scotland Esq the sum of ten Guineas for a Ring

Likewise I give and bequeath unto MARY PARRY of Piccadilly Spinster the sum of two Guineas for a Ring

Likewise I give and bequeath unto the Reverend Doctor CROOKSHANK of Swallow Street the sum of five Guineas

Likewise I Give and bequeath unto my Servant MARY JONES in case she shall be living with me at the time of my decease the sum of five pounds

And I give and bequeath all the Rest and Residue of my Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what kind or nature soever unto my said Niece CATHERINE MURRAY and I hereby appoint the said SCROOPE OGILVIE and ANDREW PATTERSON Executors of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby revoke all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare this and no other to be my last Will and Testament

In Witness whereof I have to this my Will contained in three Sheets of paper to the two first set my hand and to the last my hand and seal this third day of February in the Ninth year of the Reign of our sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine – MARGARET HOUSE – Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testatrix MARGARET HOUSE as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of EDWARD STABLESWILLIAM PARKER

This Will was proved at London on the sixteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty nine before the Worshipful Francis Simpson Doctor of Laws Surrogate of the Right Worshipful George Hay Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of STROOPE OGILVIE Esquire and ANDREW PATTERSON the Executors named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn duly to administer
