This is the last Will and Testament of me WILLIAM COLE of Wardington in the County of Oxford Yeoman First I will and require that all my just Debts and Funeral Expense and the Expenses of proving this my said Will be fully paid and satisfied Also I give and devise my Messuage or Tenement situate and being in Wardington aforesaid with its rights Members and Appurtenances thereunto belonging which I bought and purchased of [ ] EYDON and now in the Occupation of THOMAS EAGLESTONE unto my dear Wife SARAH for and during the Term of her natural Life and I order and direct the said Messuage with the Appurtenances shall at all times during the Life of my said Wife be kept in good and tenantable order and repair by and out of the Expense of my Executor herein after named Also I give devise and bequeath unto my Daughter FRANCES her Heirs and Assigns the Messuage or Tenement with the Appurts in the Town of Wardington aforesaid only which I purchased of WILLIAM WARD Also I give devise and bequeath unto my said Wife and her Assigns during the Term of her natural Life one Annuity clear yearly Rent or Sum of Forty pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain free of all Taxes and other Deductions parliamentary or otherwise to be issuing and payable out of all those Lands or inclosed Grounds in the Field of Wardington aforesaid which I also bought and purchased of the said WILLIAM WARD now in my own Occupation and out of all and every other my Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and premises whatsoever and wheresoever the same shall be situate lying and being at the time of my decease and to be paid and payable by four equal Quarterly payments at the days or times following (that is to say) the twenty fifth day of March the twenty fourth day of June the twenty ninth day of September and the twenty fifth day of December the first payment to be made on such of the said days as shall first and next happen after my decease and I do hereby charge and Subject all and every the premises last before mentioned with the payment of the said Annuity Yearly Rent or Sum of Forty pounds accordingly And my Will is that in case the same Annuity Yearly Rent or Sum or any part thereof shall be behind or unpaid by the space of twenty eight days next over or after either of the said days whereon the same is hereinbefore directed to be paid as aforesaid then and so often it shall and may be lawful to and for my said Wife and her assigns to enter into and upon all and every or any part of the said premises charged with the said Annuity Yearly Rent or Sum as aforesaid and distrain for the same or so much thereof as shall be so in arrear and all Costs and Charges occasioned by non payment thereof Also I give and bequeath unto my said Wife my Bed with the Bedstead in the best Room and also my Bed in the Room called Lord Says Room and likewise any one of my Beds now laid on by Servants together with the Bedsteads Curtains Vallances Quilts Pillows Blankets Sheets and Appurtenances to the said Beds respectively belonging and appertaining Also I give and bequeath unto my said Wife all the Household Goods and Furniture which I have had in consequence of my Marriage with her and also such other part of my Household Goods and Furniture as she shall chose to have not exceeding in the whole the value of Ten Pounds over and besides the Beds and Furniture herein before given to her Also I give and bequeath unto my said Wife the Sum of one hundred pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to her immediately after my decease Also I give and bequeath unto my Daughter MARY the Sum of one hundred pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to her within twelve months after my decease by my Executor herein after named Also I give and devise my said Messuage or Tenement bought by me of the said [ ] EYDON from and immediately after the decease of my said Wife and also the said Lands or inclosed Grounds in Wardington Field which I purchased of WILLIAM WARD and all and every other my Messuages Lands Tenements Heredits and premises whatsoever and wheresoever the same shall be situate lying and being at the time of my decease (Subject to and charged and chargeable with the payment of the said Annuity Yearly Rent or Sum of Forty pounds) unto my son WILLIAM COLE his Heirs and assigns for ever and as to all the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Chattels personal Estate and Effects I give and bequeath the same unto my said son WILLIAM COLE his Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever And Lastly I do hereby make nominate constitute and appoint my said son WILLIAM COLE sole Executor of this my said last Will and Testament And I revoke and make void all former Wills and Codicils heretofore by me made and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Testator WILLIAM COLE have to this my said last Will and Testament contained in two sheets of paper to the first sheet thereof set my hand and to this last sheet thereof my hand and seal the thirty first day of August in the twenty fourth year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the Year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty four – WM. This Will was proved at London on the twenty seventh day of April in the Year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty six before the Right Worshipful Peter Calvers Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of WILLIAM COLE the son of the Deceased and sole Executor named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn by Commission duly to administer
