This is the Last Will and Testament of me JESSE EAST of the parish of Monks Risborough in the County of Buckingham Farmer made this twentieth day of March One thousand eight hundred and fifty four  I Nominate and Appoint JOHN HILL of Aylesbury in the said county Miller and JOSEPH EGGLETON of Monks Risborough in the County aforesaid Farmer Executors of this my last Will  I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be fully paid with all convenient speed after my decease

I give and bequeath unto my said executors for the benefit of REBECCA EAST my wife all my furniture plate linen wearing apparel together with all the crops live and dead stock implements and effects of all descriptions being at the time of my decease on my lands in the Parish of Monks Risborough  or elsewhere for the term of her natural life or so long as she shall continue the farming business And at her decease or relinquishing the said business or if at any time my said executors shall determine such business or sell and dispose of the said stock furniture and effects hereinbefore described then immediately after such sale death or disposal the sum realised by such sale or disposal shall be divided in equal shares share and share alike as follows unto my said wife REBECCA EAST and to my sons THOMAS EAST  JOHN EAST  RICHARD EAST  GRACE the wife of ANDREW STRATFORD  MARY the wife of WILLIAM BADDAMS  SOPHIA the wife of GEORGE HOPCROFT and ANN the wife of THOMAS HOPCROFT or such of them as may be living at the time of my wife’s decease relinquishing business or disposal of the business And I declare that the receipts of my executors shall effectually discharge any purchaser or other person paying any moneys under this will and that such purchaser or other person shall not be answerable for the misapplication or non application thereof and I further declare that my executors shall be only answerable for their respective wilful defaults and not one for the other Lastly I revoke all former wills and I declare this to be my last will and testament  In witness whereof I have to this my last will and testament set my hand the day and year first above written – JESSE EAST

Proved on the 6th day of December 1854 before The Reverend Frederick Cox Clerk Commissioner by the Oath of JOHN HILL one of the Executors to whom Administration was committed he being first sworn duly to administer (Power being reserved of making the like Grant to JOSEPH EGGLETON the other Executor when he shall apply for the same)
