In the name of God Amen  I JOHN BAILY the Elder of Westridge within the Parish of Streatley in the County of Berks yeoman Doe make my Last Will and Testament as followeth  First I give and bequeath to my Sons JOHN  THOMAS and JOSEPH and to my Daughters JANE and MARGARET One shilling apiece to be paid to them respectively by my Executor within three months next after my decease  And all the rest and residue of my goods Cattle Chattels ready money debts owing and personall Estate soever I give and bequeath to my Son EDWARD BAILY and I do appoint my said Son EDWARD Sole Executor of this my Will hereby revoking all former Wills by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the thirtyeth day of December 1738 – JOHN BAILY – Signed Sealed published and declared by the said JOHN BAILY ye Testator as and for his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us who subscribe our Names as Wintesses in his presence – EDWARD READINGWILLIAM [            ]

This Will was proved at Reading the Eleventh day of May in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven Hundred and Forty three before the Revd and Worshipfull Samuel Knight Doctor in Divinity Archdeacon of the Archdeaconry of Berks by the Oaths of EDWARD BAILY Son of the said deceased and sole Executor in the said Will named to whom was comitted the Administration of all and singular the Goods and Chattels of the said deceased he being first sworn of the truth of the said Will and of well and truly performing the same and [            ] a true and perfect Inventory of all the Goods and Chattels of the said deceased and sending an Account thereof when required
